good的比较级

good的比较级是---better
 
【语法提示】有些英语形容词和副词的比较级是不规则变化，比如good /well------- better，
bad/badly------ worse，many/much-------more，little ------ less ，far ---- farther等。
 
Better
1）可以用作形容词 (adj.)
We're hoping for better weather tomorrow.  
我们希望明天天气转好。
You must pay extra for a better seat.
如要较好的座位必须另加钱。
The doctors were saying there wasn't much hope of me getting better.      
医生们说我好转的希望不大。
 
2）可以用作副词 (adv.)
You would write better if you had a good pen.
要是有枝好笔，就能写得更好。
From now on I will try to do better.
从现在起我要尽量做得好些。
You'll like it better when you understand it more.
当你对它更了解时，你就会更喜欢它。
 
3）可以用作动词 (v.)
He had tried hard to better his status, but failed.
他努力设法改善自己的地位,但未能成功。
Our parents chose to come here with the hope of bettering themselves.     
我们的父母选择来到这里，希望能够改善自己的生活。
As an account of adolescence it could hardly be bettered.   
作为描写青春期的书，它已几臻完美。
 
4）可以用作名词 (n.)
We had hoped for better.
我们曾希望情况好转。
