基础英语听力小技巧（数字的听写与计算）

1数字听写

1) 掌握易混肴数字的发音
eg. sixteen与sixty; thirteen与thirty
2)注意数字的写法
eg.1,243 不能写成1，000，243。电话号码611-114 不能写成611，114
8：35可以读成twenty-five to nine,也可以读成Eight thirty-five或者thirty-five past eight

2 计算
考试中有关数字计算的考题大多是有关时间、价格、尺寸、年龄、人数、距离等的计算。其特点：正确答案总是通过加、减、乘、除的运算而得出。要求我们听懂对话内容，熟悉各种数字的表达方式，记住数字并进行敏捷的心算。应付这类测试需要注意以下几点：

1）记住数字，弄清数字之间的关系是计算的关键。当选择题出现各种数字时，可能涉及计算。
For example，
M：The room is a rectangle,10 feet long and 6 feet wide.
W: I thought its perimeter would be Less than 30 feet.
Q: How big is the perimeter of the room? (C)
A.20 feet B 24 feet C 32 feet D42 feet
会话中出现的数字，选项中没有，须弄清数字间关系，进行计算房间是长方形的，10 尺长，6 尺宽，求房间的周长。抓住long, wide 及perimeter 之间的关系，便能作出（长+ 宽）乘2 = 长方形周长的计算。

2）注意一些与数字有关的词汇和表述方法。
Few, each, double, a couple of, half, dozen, a quarter of, a little bit, every, daily, monthly, quarterly, once, twice, triple等等。
For example，
W: Im in charge of buying the fruit for the children at our church. Im so happy to find that apples and plums are in season. Give me two dozen sof each.
M: I hope that they are as good as they look .
Q: How many apples did the woman buy ? （D ）
A 12 B 36 C 48 D
对话中dozen和each是一对与数字相关的重点词。若忽略此词，则无法计算。

3 ）注意练习时间和价格的计算法。其中时间的计算一般是hours(a.m, p.m ），minutes(half an hour),quarters, days, months和years 的计算。
For example，
M: Do you get up at 5 every morning?
W: Yes, and I need seven hours of sleep. I should go to bed earlier, I guess.
Q :When should the woman go to bed?(C)
A. 6 p.m B. 7p.m C.10 p.mD.11 p.m
女方每日早5 点起床，需睡7 小时，就知她天天10p.m 就寝。
