Getting to know the colleagues
A: Morning.
B: Morning. How are you doing today?
A: Can't be better! Thank you!
B: Your supervisor Mr. White was out on a business trip. Let me first introduce you to your colleague, Francis. He is in the next door.
A: Okay!
B: Francis, this is our new colleague, Mary.
A: Hello! I'm Mary. Glad to meet you.
C: Glad to meet you, too.
B: Mary, Francis is a good engineer in computer. So you can ask him if you have any trouble about computer.

Welcome to the company
A: I want to formally welcome you to the company, and I hope you will be happy here.
B: Thank you. I'm sure I will. I'm looking forward to all the new challenges and opportunities.
A: You'll find the rules pretty relaxed here, but there still are some formal rules. First I want to tell you some informal do's and don'ts.
B: Okay, please.
A: We don't need to punch in and out here, but we hope everyone arrives on time and doesn't leave too early, without a good reason.
B: That seems reasonable. I will arrive on the dot.
A: And of course we don't mind a normal number of personal phone calls, but we would like everyone not to have too many.
B: I see. Are there any subjects that are taboo to talk about?
A: In general, salary is probably the one that causes the most  trouble, because such talk causes inter office rivalries, and hurts morale.
B: I know what you mean. It's been a problem in almost every place I've worked.
A: That's all.
B: OK. I think I know what to do!

A:大体来说，薪水可能是引起最多麻烦的话题。因为这类谈话会引起办公室同仁间的竞争，而且会打击士气。
B:我知道你的意思，这问题几乎发生在我曾经工作的每个单位里。
A:就这些了。
