  在完成听力任务的过程中,学会关注你需要的目标词汇 。
Teaching aids
 Computer multimedia projector,   the pictures of traffic accidents, the pictures of the passengers and the pictures of environmental pollution. 
Teaching procedures
Step 1.   Introduction
1. Greet the students and get them ready for learning. 
2. The teacher asks the students to report the homework. Let the students read the passage about their experiences of getting lost.
3. The teacher lets the students make a survey in groups:
(1) How do you usually go to school?
(2)  Why do you go to school  by/on …?
4. The teacher lets the students from different groups report the results of the survey.
5. The teacher makes a summary and leads to the new lesson:  Most of us go to school by bike, and Kangkang, Michael, Jane and Darren also like riding bikes to school. Now let’s look at the    icture of 1a and guess: what are they talking about
Step 2.   Presentation
1. Students check the guess. 
2. Students watch the flash and underline the new words.
3. Students read the new words, and then learn the new words with the help of the teacher.
4.  Students  read the   sentences of 1b and   understand the general   ideas.
5.   Students listen to the   recording and mark T or F.
6. Students check the answers.
Step 3.   Consolidation
1. Students read the conversation after the recording sentence by sentence.
2. Students try to follow the speed, paying attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
3. The teacher asks the students to  learn in groups to find out the difficult points in the conversation. At last let them sum up the main points of the conversation.
4.   The teacher makes a   summary to explain the key points and difficult points to the  s tudents:
(1)  get/ be used to (doing) sth.
(2) be afraid of (doing) sth. 
(3)  If  people  obey  the traffic rules, there  will  be fewer accidents.  条件状语从句。

5. The teacher asks the students to read 1a and write down three advantages of cycling. Encourage them to add their own ideas.
6. The teacher lets two students give their answers. Finish  1c .
7. The teacher asks the students to act out the conversation of 1a in groups of 4.
Step 4.   Practice
1. The teacher asks the students to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of riding bikes in groups. 
Teach the new word  disagree  by comparing with the word  agree .

2. The teacher asks four students  from different groups to   report their results of discussion. 
3 .   The teacher asks the students  to read the sentences of 2. 
4. The teacher plays the recording of 2  sentence by sentence.  Ask the students  to listen and fill in the blanks.
5.  The teacher  plays the recording of 2  without stopping. Ask the students to listen again and check their answers.
6. The teacher lets two or three students give their answers.
7. Students talk about the reasons why more people in  China  use bicycles.
