What was seen: an exhibition of Qi Baishi’s works

The exhibition

1. The life of Qi Baishi: 

Documents with words and pictures were exhibited to introduce the life of Qi Baishi.

2. The works of Qi Baishi: 

Dozens of his works were exhibited. All paintings were vivid and delightful, following the traditional Chinese style of painting and presenting unique painting skills. 

The artist

Born in 1864 in Hunan Province, Qi Baishi worked as a carpenter when he was fourteen, and learned to paint by himself. He had once learned painting from many famous painters at that time. In his forties, he spent seven years visiting lots of famous scenic spots in China. His experiences urged him on to advanced painting techniques.

Conclusion

The visit without doubt made us fall in love with Chinese painting.  It was quite an unforgettable experience.
