Unit 3  language in use
教材分析 本单元总结了形容词和副词的最高级形式以及句型“The more…,the more…”,并据此展开练习。而Around the world 介绍了世界上最长的火车之旅,有助于学生了解不同名族的文化,以扩大知识面、加强跨文化交际的能力。 
学情分析 本单元复习形容词和副词的最高级形式、交通工具以及出行方式的内容十分贴近学生学习的认知水平。也是与他们的日常生活息息相关,教师应该多启发学生将学习和生活联系起来,从而加强理解和记忆。并通过听、说、读、写等多方面的练习,提高学生的英语表达能力和运用水平。
教学目标

2. Structure: Superlative adjectives and adverbs (-est, most); irregular superlatives.

Step 1 Revision Work in pairs to review the text of Unit 1 and Unit 2 结对复习本单元的单词和课文,听写单词,写出一些形容词副词的比较级。 巩固之前学过的知识,导入新课。
Step 2 Language practice
1.Read through the example sentences in the box with the whole class.
2.Remember all the sentences. 读并记住上节课所学的重难点。同学之间相互讨论归纳语法以及疑点。 交流讨论掌握学习英语的新方法。
Step 3 Complete the sentences. 1. Ask the students to read through the sentences in Activity 1. 
2. Complete the sentence with the correct form of the words in brackets.
3. Ask the students to check with a partner.
4. Check the answers. 学生完成Activity1 中的填空练习,巩固形容词副词的最高级的用法。 通过学生自己读和做并且和同学讨论交流答案,能够培养良好的学习习惯。
Step 4 Complete the conversations in Activity 2 and 3 1. Ask the students to read through the sentences and words in Activity 2 and 3.

Step 5 Complete the word map. 1. Learning to learn
Remember that putting words in groups (for example, bus, train, plane, taxi) makes them easier to learn. Make sure you give your groups a titl e (for example, Ways of travelling). Remember also that it’s useful to learn e xpressions as well as the words (for example, take a bus / plane / taxi, bus stop / train station). 
2. Complete the word map in Activity 4. 学生完成Activity4中的填单词练习,让学生回答答案,教师更正。 复习本模块的新单词,运用所学知识就交通出行展开讨论。
Step 6 Work in pairs. Workinpairs.Askthe Ss to work in pairs and choose a place they would both liketovisit.Get them to work through the questions, asking and answering about the place.Nominate a few pairs to ask and answer. 让学生用最高级的形式讨论出行交通工具的乘坐方式。
进一步巩固形容词的最高级的用法。
Step 7
Complete the email.
1.Ask the students to read through the words in the box in Activity 6. 
2. Read through the email in Activity 6.
3.Complete the email with the words in the box.
4.Ask the students to check with a partner.
5.Check the answers. 通过图片,激发学生的学习兴趣,再进行相关的讨论和练习。 通过完成电子邮件培养学生热爱旅行,热爱生活的精神和态度。

10. Check the answers. 教师播放Activity7中的听力,学生感知内容,再次播放录音完成五个选择题;教师播放Activity8的录音,学生初步了解短文内容,再次播放录音完成短文后的回答问题。 通过听力,学生感知内容,完成五个选择题和短文后的回答问题,提高学生的听力技能。
