当我们试图记住某个词汇信息时,应尽可能地使它与自己的认知结构建立起联系,这样才能够更有效地存贮、检索、提取该信息。根据认知加工层次理论,学习者习得词汇的过程中往往要对其进行形式和语义的加工。
记住了单词在某一语境中的用法，不但可以在遇到此情况时熟练地运用此单词，还可以举一反三，将此单词用在相似的语境中，从而真正掌握单词的用法，达到活学活用的目的。
音形义记忆法，主要是从单词的读音、词形、词义入手，遵循联想、对比、归纳等原则进行的汇总记忆法。

【记】拆:m(拼音mi,米→尺寸)+ash(灰）
→―尺一寸皆成灰→压碎、压坏。
smash [smaej] vt粉碎;打碎;打破
【记】拆:s(拼音sui,碎)+mash(把...捣成糊状)
→粉碎、打碎、打破。
sash n.饰带；肩带;腰带
【记】拆:s(拼音si，丝)+ash(灰→灰色）
→丝质的灰色腰带。
apiary n.养蜂场，蜂房（尤指为酿蜜而养蜂的场所）
【例】 He keeps an apiary. 他有一个养蜂场。
【根】 api 蜂，ary 场所－养蜂场。参考：aviary（n.大型鸟舍）
【记】 a 一个，pi 拼：屁，ary 场所－养屁股上有一个针的动物的场所－蜂房
【 类 】 apiary:bee＝cage:pet
